To me, this is a good balance of applied effort and inevitably successful humor.

Effort = 1/10
Humor = 6/10

In my mind, you should never have the effort be greater than the potential success of the joke. Otherwise the joke’s not nearly so readily received. For instance the humor could be at a 10, but it’s shrouded by the weight of the effort which is at an 11. The further down you can get the effort from the success of the humor, the better.

Point is, this guy usually has a good effort/humor ratio.
